Truly, my only qualm with this book is that the whole train line system was far too complex, and I didn't understand it. However, Dinniman does start off the book with a note stating that it is complicated on purpose, and understanding The Tangle isn't necessary for understanding the book. So, bad news: locations along the railway in the book were super confusing. Good news, the book is absolutely marvelous, and the plot still makes sense even when the trains don't. Even though this is the third book into a large series, I am still excited to keep reading. There is a good mix of returning characters and ideas and new introductions. This keeps both the A-plot of the series and B- and C-plots of the book moving and interesting. All of the sprinkling of foreshadowing for the future floors/levels in the game work to keep up excitement too. The pacing continues to be great. The characters are likeable and dynamic. The magic/Sci-Fi aspects are super fun and creative. This series is just so entertaining.
