“Warring mobs with Brandon Sanderson-like allomancy powers that are built into the culture and identity of society.”

Great world building and very interesting magical ability dynamic. The story does not have a singular main character, rather following a family as a whole and the struggles, thoughts, love, and complication between them all as they cling to their culture but also adapting to an ever evolving world. The character development is definitely building wonderfully for the next two novels, but I do feel it can be a bit dry considering the political intrigue that is heavily built into the book, but that's just me. Some spicy content that I was not expecting, so cautious when listening to the audiobook out loud 😅
