Definitely better than the first book, with better character depth and plot twists. I was surprised that there was less spice, but it was definitely for the benefit of the story. Everyone was too horny in the first book. The addition of Bjorn's POV was a great choice, as it allowed us to know more details, but also allowed the reader to trust Bjorn when Freya did not. Tbh, Freya's grudge was annoying to me, and honestly didn't do much for the story other than adding unnecessary drama and false tension. Other than that, I did really enjoy this book. It was fun to see Freya grow and learn more about her magic. For sure it was worth it to read A Fate Inked in Blood in order to get to read A Curse Carved in Bone.
