*read 2024 The only reason I have to detract any bit of a star from this rating is that the beginning of the book was a bit dragged out for me. I understand that it's kind of the point - aiding eventually in demonstrating how quickly a logical, pragmatic person like Louis can fall into madness - but it dragged on just a bit too long. It was nice seeing how quaint and happy The Creed family was, but "nice" isn't the point; the point is to be scared. The last 150 pages or so absolutely flew by though, and were definitely horrific. I really enjoyed Pet Sematary and fully get why it is a horror classic. Stephen really is the King. Overall, I would recommend this to fans of thriller and horror stories.
